Recommendations needed: Lo-Tech Weapons
« on: May 23, 2016, 10:16:09 AM »
I am making a fleet of Matchbox scale cars and need weapons.

More: The Road Warrior/fury road style improvised crossbows, bolt-throwers, zip-guns etc.
Less: Hi-Tech, manufactured-ammo consuming machine guns, rocket launchers etc.

There are loads of options for WW2 and Sci-Fi fire arms, but I can't find a good source of post-apoc meets medieval technology. GW has some interesting bits, but Warhammer Fantasy stuff is going through the roof.  In my imagination the chain guns and .50 cals ran out of ammo ages ago...

Any suggestions? Scratch-building tips?

If you are going for matchbox scale I would try some of the 1/72 fantasy plastics or Historical .Off cuts from metal minis bases can often be filed on to resemble a weapon too.You could buy some value priced minis on Ebay and cut them apart . lol

I am not sure what you want scale wise perhaps fireforge or frostgrave plastics can yield some bits.

Large crossbows, ramming spikes using 28 mm spears? What about Fireforge miniatures or Wargames factory ,bet if you ask in the for sale section ,someone has leftovers in their bits box .
