Perhaps instead of dragons in Frostgrave, we'd have drakes. They are essentially smaller, weaker dragons, and are more reasonable to fight. Because the level of power a dragon would have in Frostgrave, is borderline Lich Lord, but if you give a dragon a name or a unigue backstory/campaign, that almost calls for it to be a stronger dragon for whatever reason, making it more difficult than the Lich Lord, by a massive margin. I feel as though drakes would be more reasonable, and perhaps baby dragons, because eggs should be able to survive the massive freezing of Felstad.

I also like the idea of maybe a Shamanic school, involving totem magic, where you build totems and they have area effects or something of the like. It'd be like a combination of Enchanter, Elementalist, and Witch.

Otherwise, I don't think I'll be posting any more ideas until I have gotten a good taste of Breeding Pits when it comes out. Till then, happy rolling!

Thank you,

I do hope you enjoyed reading whatever it is I have typed, I likely put some thought into it, and appreciate when others look into my brain and go, "Huh, okay"

I know somthing I would really want- it would require additional models and some rules- and I don't know how they would work...

I would like the option for familiars in the stile and insanity of the old citidel chaos familiars.

An idea for a wandering monster.

As so many wizards conjure demons and use them to carry off treasure.....what about an option for a minor demon carrying a treasure token from on one side of the board and off the other.  ???

@ zellak

Well by the same token you could have the demon by a construct or another warband monster.

Rather perhaps a creature, perhaps called a "loot goblin" would do? :D

Aye, a construct or a zombie .....anything you like if there is another treasure token.   ;)

Another idea....not related to the above.

A wizard can save 10 levels of advancement to gain +1 on any one of his/her stats, even those at maximum advancement.   ie    a level 50 Wizard starts saving his level advancements and when he gets to level 60 he can boost his fight stat to +6.     (  or armour to +11    :)   )

How about a Frost Giant that moves to collect the treasure tokens instead of killing the warbands?

I haven't played a campaign yet, but my idea was that between games, or even at the start of the campaign, there is a limited pool of new soldiers that can be hired. If you suffer significant casualties in a game and want to hire more warm bodies, you might have to make do with what's available, not necessarily getting the soldier type you want or the best one for the job.

I really like the ogre idea from the first page, I'll definitely be incorporating that. Great thread, LC!

I like punkrabbit's idea of a Frost Giant that collects the treasure....though I would say it enters the board edge already carrying an extra treasure token.

I will suggest this to my group.  :)

Well its the Wizards which are in short supply rather than the soldiers. The background has the city surrounded by rag tag settlements looking to make a profit from it.

Though you could explain away a lack of soldiers either due to the area of the city being hard to reach, or yes, them being less willing to join your party due to attrition. ...Though the fluff waves this away with the wizards just offering more spoils.

A 1gp increase in recruitment costs or the like may be a harsh alternative though. The Lich Lord campaign has its final reward (besides the loot and exp) as a minis 1gp to all recruitment costs you see.

Another idea....wands.

800 gold coins  and takes up an item slot.  Choose any in game spell.

It can be used to cast a spell at base level.

A wand of Elemental Bolt at 12+ to cast.

ps...my pure school Necromancer is now at level 8.... using only the 8 necromancer spells is proving a challenge.  :)

pps another guy at my club is playing a pure school Sigilist.

idea for a new spell...

Vampire Thrall

    Necromancer / LOS / 12+

This counts as a control undead spell, the vampire can become one of the warband if there is a free slot.

another idea......Demon Amulet.

a magic item which contains the demon's true name.  The demon can join the warband if there is a free slot.  Conjure the demon out of game to discover what type it is.  The spellcaster must carry the Demon Amulet in order to control the demon.

ps.    my pure school Necromancer is now level 12.

We played Lair of the Ghoul King today.

Can I suggest an amendment to the scenario ?

At one point we had 5 ghouls bouncing off walls as they made random movements in a room.

I suggest that ghouls that come out of the trapdoors move to the throne in the throne-room and then start making random movements if they don't encounter any adventurers.

And wandering monsters rolls triggered on a 16+ ( when picking up chests )  also generate another ghoul appearing from a trapdoor.

(ps....my pure school necromancer is now level 23.  )

I'd like to see anti-undead Thaumaturge spells that are the equivalent to the two anti-demon spells already present.
