Not seen this thread before, but those look really good!

15mm seems a good scale for this, as 6mm epic is a bit small for details, and full sized models are just huge!

Yeah, it’s a good compromise, big enough for character, small enough for large battles and storage.

Hi guys

These are not finished.

Quick update on the 15mm BA project, matched up a rhino with each squad, squad markings (need to be finished) on the right knee and right fender of the corresponding rhino, theres only 5 tactical squads here, I'll be able to field all 10, 2nd company squads (plus a lot more) when finished, have started chipping on the rhinos, will finish that, finish the squad markings, then start the weathering.

Yeah, it’s an interesting scale, I think almost perfect, good for storage, can get heaps on the table, big enough for character, but not for the faint hearted, as you have to make/convert/print/sculpt everything, I used to convert all my figs and models, printing makes it ridiculously easy, but you need to do a lot of printing.

Blast and damn... I didn't have an interest in doing Marines again before stumbling innocently into this thread. And with an Elegoo Mars 2 soon to be mine... Blast and damn!!!

Now visions of multiple-company Heresy forces dance behind my eyelids... or maybe the Badab War. All of it.  o_o

Gunner, am I right thinking most of the Marines are Moonjam's "6-8mm Galactic Crusaders" on Thingiverse, suitably re-scaled?

Some probably are, I’ve got literally thousands of 40k, there are a lot of different marines rescaled.

Hi guys

I haven't done any 28mm Sci-Fi since I stopped 28mm 40K in the early 2000s, instead I switched to 15mm 40K and Sci-fi in general, but seeing a lot of Stargrave posts has peaked my interest again, so I did a little search through my stash, along with a bunch of 40k stuff, that I may use, I found a box of Dreamforge Games Eisenkern power armour, some starwars droids, some galeforce 9 colonial marines and Aliens and this bunch of figs that I painted up in the 90s for use in Stargrunt.

I bought the none GW figs from a trade stall at a gaming convention in the 90's, does anyone know what they are, there 2 types, but they look like they are from the same manufacturer.

I'm unsure about the paint job, whether to improve the paint job they have or strip them and start again,  I'm leaning toward adding some greens to the camo, and using the brown on the padded armour as a base for Khaki grey, what do you think?

 Hi guys

Been working on some 28-32mm Sci-Fi skirmish figures lately, I bought a box of Dream Forge Eisenkern Stormtroopers 10-12 years ago, but TBH I am sort of over the space Nazi theme, so they sat in the stash, with all the new Stargrave stuff being shown off, I thought I would try and do something with them, I dropped the Nazi style helmets and weapons and printed of some scaled down 40K style heads/helmets (ones that were the least Space marine looking), weapons and holsters, and some starcraft style heavy power armour, there were 4, but the upper body on one failed to print, might print another 3 of those off, pretty happy how they turned out, they have a special forces vibe happening. I still need to add some green stuff details, and clean them up a bit before undercoating.

Hi guys

I've had a Futurama based space ship crew project bouncing around my noggin for a dozen years now, I had planned on sculpting the characters the old fashioned way, first in 15mm then 28mm, but never got around to it, so I thought it was about time to get the project rolling, and use the 3D printer, I downloaded the characters, sliced their heads off in 3D builder and sized them to 28mm, I started with using them on the Stargrave plastic sets, but wasn't happy with the chunkiness of the bodies for Amy and Leela, so I made a second one of each, which I think came out better, I'm pretty happy with Fry, Farnsworth and Kiff (although, he is a little tall and chunky) I still have Zapp, Bender and Dr Z to do, I've got a cracking Zapp conversion in the works, the other 2 will be very different to the original characters, I'll be doing Dr Z in combat mode, with his frills extended, and will be making him a hulking beast, much bigger than man size, Bender will be getting a combat robot body, I also need to find a Hermes head to add him to the crew, not sure if I'll do a Nibbler, what do you think?
