Railways were first introduced to India in 1853 from Mumbai (Bombay) to Thane (Great Indian Peninsula Railway) but the majority of railway expansion was not until post 1857 so not much to go on I'm afraid.

You'd be looking at an 1850s loco design - open cab or rudimentary sun roof, tall chimney, lots of polished brass and copper, large diameter driving wheels, prominent cylinders, probably at an angle. Think 'First Great Train Robbery' This is the kind of thing - while the carriages used in the film are Irish and 1850s the loco looks 1860'ish https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kV36CHsDZ_c
Otherwise we are looking at this kind of thing

Not much hope but there may be a kit out there that you could adapt...
