Prepainted Townsfolk List?
« on: June 07, 2016, 04:23:41 PM »
Ok, this may seem odd to come to this forum looking for pre-painted minis, but hear me out.

I've been collecting minis to paint to serve as a crowd for Blood Bowl/Jousting tournament sort of things. However, There's no way I'll get them painted in time for an event, so I was wondering if there were good options out there in cheap, pre-painted plastic land? I know there's a farmer with pig in the D&D miniatures line, but if anyone can point me to a good list of this sort of minis to fill out some stands, that'd be great!

Oh, elves, dwarves, humans, a mix would be fantastic.

I saw such a crowd for the same purpose a fellow had made out of D&D and Mageknight figs. The key was most had been cut at the shoulders and glued to the top of a wood block to make a solid crowd with a few whole figs around the edges. The blocks were irregular and painted black and the looked far better than I would have thought.

Try Ebay. Search for 25mm/28mm peasants, I just did that and got 4 or 5 batches of painted minis come up in the UK, may be the same in the States.

I think the Mage knight and D&D figures may be your best bet.  THere's all kinds of cloaked types that are either weaponless or could easily be made so.  There's probably some good heroclix as well.

Do you have a nearby game store that sells CMG figs?  They've probably got bins you can sort through.

Pathfinders last release was mostly for a fully painted inn and inhabitants. Sadly with their rarity scheme some go for large money. Rusty Dragon Inn was the set name.

This is actually a really good idea.  I always want to have civilians (fantasy, modern, whatever) in the games.
But the time I have to paint is pretty limited, and I'm reluctant to spend the little time I have on figures that don't have any "benefit", I guess you could say.
Pre-painted civilians would solve that.  It's a good idea, we can't be the only ones that would want them.
