Question on RCW
« on: May 31, 2016, 01:17:03 PM »
Confused abit here, during the RCW were Airships (Zeppelins)  used at anytime, i have seen a stamp with a picture of a Russian Zeppelin 1910 which was named the "Albatross" and another called the "Uchebniy" 1908 - then i read somewhere on the web but can't remember where i found it that they had 14 airships, i don't know if this is true or not.

Anybody got any information on these ? but ever so happy and put my mind at rest, because if they was used during the war then i will create one just for the hell of it.
The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Tsarist army had in its composition 15 airships. Some of them were used during the First World War. Initially - quite successfully. Then, anti-aircraft artillery and fighter aircraft made their use impossible.
During the Civil War, airships are not used, although the Bolsheviks have repaired and have put into operation one piece.

But quite often used aerostats for reconnaissance and artillery fire correction. There was even an episode when an air observer from the machine gun shot down a British plane fighter.
