I think the fluff is that the animists created the gnolls in the underground dungeons or some such thing so new wizards have found the animist knowledge and... I don't know if it is they created their own or are in charge of already created gnolls? But I think they are meant to be for the animist warband as Mo said.

I already have a gnoll warband, I just want the new plastic set so my warband can have *better* looking gnolls.

Like the Cultists, the Gnolls give you two options (well, two main ones for Frostgrave, anyway): as random encounters, or as alternate henchmen for a Beastcrafter. As with the Lich in Thaw of the Lich Lord, this is an option available to all Wizards, not a new school of magic... although a new spell type is introduced for Wizards who don't want to get all bestial, and there is [REDACTED] in there as well.

Minis news seems to be a bit slow on my radar lately, and the impatience for this supplement is killing me.  Has there been any further information or spoilers dropped on the book somewhere?
