Great stuff!  Just playing with some of those palm trees for desert terrain.  Be making jungle soon and will def be looking at this later as well!

Thanks for sharing the tutorial.  How do you find the hot glue gun works with plastic aquarium plants.  My only foray in this area suggested that the plastic doesn't stay 'glued'. Any tips?

Works fine with plastic plants just use plenty of hot glue  ;)

Great tutorial by the way. Must try some drybrushing and matt varnish on my terrain as it looks great!

Out of curiousity, are there any particularly helpful eBay sellers or eBay search terms for finding these higher quality plastic plants? I've found decent bamboo from Hong Kong, but on the whole it seems like eBay is hiding all these nice plastic plants that are much better scaled for 28's than the stuff you can find at Hobby Lobby.  lol

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Thanks for sharing the tutorial.  How do you find the hot glue gun works with plastic aquarium plants.  My only foray in this area suggested that the plastic doesn't stay 'glued'. Any tips?

The hot glue gun works really well. I just rest the glue gun on it's stand, get a plant/tree and hold it under the glue gun, then sqeeuze the trigger and turn the tree/plant round to get a firm blob of hot glue at the bottom/base and then stick that on the jungle base/mdf. I only need to hold it for 3 seconds and then it's set.Once dry it is set like a rock. If there's too much glue visible you can put some PVA glue on it and flock it or just paint over it.

If your looking for sellers on ebay you can search "plastic coco palm" and you will get some results. if you then look at the seller's other items you'll see a variety of plastic jungle plants on the cheap. The palm trees you see in my terrain are from very smal to big. you better get a couple of sets to be able to mix them up. I bought 4 sets of 14 trees. I didn't use the smallest ones in the pack.

this is what came up for me:
