A small summer scratchbuild - wheeled scanning platform
« on: June 25, 2016, 07:34:24 PM »
A week or so ago I found a pic in a book of an intriguing remote-sensing wheeled platform, which looks a bit like this island bus, but is smaller and carries a load of remote sensing equipment:

(the book is at work, so I can't check the name to find a pic online)

This morning I found 8 of these thrown away - some messy character (luckily) spilled them outside a bin:

So a very small summer project is about to start - a sci fi version of the remote sensing wheeled platform.

The back ends of playmobile bikes by my best guess? They have some nice shaping to them, looking forwards to how that will turn out!

Nice Find! I love it when a junk or resale find becomes the basis for creative building.

I think so too - the black part near the yellow lightning flash is the seat, and the wheel is the rear wheel of course.

If I manage to put what I have in mind together  :D

Does the seat come off?  That might help to disguise the origins a bit more.
