Awesome idea.

Now the concept of a 6mm FF-style force is running through my head, though.

Chocobo-knights facing off against clockwerk goblin mechs.

Ages ago somebody mentioned the idea of a Exalted 6mm force. Very much a FF style there also.

That's something I've been chewing over as a wargame idea but I'll have to think on it more.

You should definitely find some chocobo models from somewhere and try posing them with Miyazaki knights on. I think it'd look excellent.

Chocobo? You mean Horseclaws right.  :D

Talking about horseclaws, I'm trying hard to track down the Nausicaa manga's since they appear to have more back-story and creatures.

Of course, horseclaws. Final Fantasy definitely wasn't "inspired" by these. :p

They're pretty easy to find online.

Just thinking on that, you could probably get 28mm chickens and use them as 10/15mm mounts. 6mm might be a bit too small though (15mm chickens, maybe? do they even exist?).

Found a friend who has it and will met me borrow it. Might still buy it if its any good.

In any case, first model painted! Just a quick test, I think I might want to mix some brighter red/pink for these guys. I used the old GW scab red, and realized I have two pots of it lying around, one pretty low so I might as well mix that up for this one.

"Group shot" the current grand total of what I have painted for this project.  lol

Reference material.

These irregular sculpts are pretty big, close to 8mm even. Not a problem, but I might do that print at 15% size increase now.

Yes, I think a bigger tank would work better  :)

Maybe do a simpler version but at that 'size'?

Wouldn't it always.  lol

But yea, I think a MK2 might be in order, I might end up with three size classes of tank in the end anyway, I think I want something like a ft17 for this also.

Oh man this is a sweet project. Miyazaki miniatures have been on my wish list for years.

Now I'm curious what exactly has been on your wish list specifically.

In the mean time I've also started collecting a list of models to use for my bugs, I spotted these guys on the 15mm facebook group, I think they might work as ranged support for me. Their faces are nice and greebly like the bugs in nausicaa.

I've been trying a bit on an airship. This is really a rough sketch, I should put pencil to paper first really but my hand drawing is terrible so I ofthen prefer to sketch in CAD. I'm pleased with the wings, the body shape isn't that great though. Complex curves, always complex curves.  o_o

Looks good so far  :)

Quite possibly loose the front 'bridge' and change the top somehow  ???

cheers

Most of the howl airships have the bridge, and I kind of like it, though I might shrink it down a bit and make it more of a deck like on some. I'll probably scrap the entire fuselage it has been stretched and bend and twisted to the point of breaking with very little actual results. I should probably start with sharp edges and round them when I'm done, rather then trying to fit the round shapes to them.

Still I like the flappy action on the wings.  :D
