Conversion about a 28mm victorious woodland indian

A Challenge for the Re-Animator :


The request :
 One of my club buddy has asked me to do a figurine of an indian which can be used when he plays in a Song of Drums and Tomahawks scenario.
 he was very interested by the ones i have done for my own collection.

The challenge :
That i take for myself is : How to do the same thing without reproducing the same conversion. The most easy way was to take an indian and redone the conversion of something like. BUT, i'm the Ré-Animator and i can go like that !

The Conversion :
i'll take a figurine inspiring me to be converted into an woodland indian and make it looking like my club buddy : That's to say : Bald with a big belly as most of our club members in their 50th...

The figurine :

I choose that one from ex Grenadier Fantasy Barbarian range.



I use one in the past as my Nordic Barbarian Bloodbowl Coach. Yelling on the playground against the ineffectiveness of his players....

Hope you 'll like to follow the different steps of conversion to reach my goal : A unique converted figurine featuring a good friend of mine !

First step :

Let's take off (with cutter work) all the things we don't need on this figurine     :

* The beard. The guy has already a bald head with a pony tail hair.
* Some horse hair decorations where some items will be glue/create like loincloth.
* Bare feet are redesign with the cutter into mocassins.
* The muscular bare legs are reduce with a mini grinder and fashionned as a typical indian trouserwith some cutter work.

that give us this :



then,

* the hands are drilled for receiving the knife and the trophy of our victorious warrior !
* Weapons are collected from my spare bits box :
   A Redoubt Musket.
   A Gripping Beast viking axe reduce and sculpted into a tomahawk, and a spear head sculpted as a knife.
   A powder horn is found in the Wargame Factory zulus spare bits.

Now, i have to start the special operation to convert this classical figurine into my club buddy.

How ?

Adding a fat belly of a guy being about 50 

Usually, i never use Green or some like that into my conversion because i don't like the way to practise with.
But here, i have no choice about the technic .

yes but for FYW games, i 'll be very brilliant to include one in a scenario...

here it our fellow after the chirurgical work of the Ré-Animator :



The belly is done with PATTEX cold weld.

 

i create a typical indian loincloth with the extra material from the belly....

Now, our friend is ready to receive all the details needs for becoming my buddy Serge !

I reach the final step of conversion.

The trouser is finished with his side garments.
The warrior hold his knife and the scalp in the other. The scalp is coming from a republican roman head with crested helmet (from Warlord plastic). The crest is cut and glue into the hole's hand.
An another crest is glue on the head's top featuring the hair of the warrior.
The Redoubt musket is fixed with a rifle sling (made of thin lead piece) and glue on the indian back. 




It's time to start the painting

He 's painted, based and ready to fight..............or die

Grisly, but a great job, Eric! Did the player request the red, white, and blue warpaint on the chest? Looks almost like the American flag...

Hey mike,
I saw it too late !

I was basing the figurine when i have notice the fact.

It's the blue trouser that is giving the flag effect.
