Great Idea! I wonder whether they could be used as 15mm super mutants now!

Haha, I hadn't thought of that! Certainly something to see! ;D

I've painted the big beast of burden. Just added a few details (bionic eye and small stuff):

Dull colours, as usual for big animals, but couldn't resist the coloured crest (though not too much).

This is where I am with the other four beasts:

Scout riders for the tribe, leading the nomads through the wastelands.

Some colour hopefully son!

I threw some paint on them. Quick dirty job, but allows me to move on more stuff ;D. Mostly earthy colours for the furs and a  not too garish red for the reptilian. I hope they look suitable for the rad wastelands.

Mandatory pack shot:

You can find them here:

I have some more stuff in mind before I get back to the rest of foot guys. Hopefully coming anytime son!

A pinch of weird inspiration ;D. I made a mistake when shopping my razor blades, I got a different set, which happened to have quite a bulkier blister. Somehow I thought I had to do something with it...

This pic came to mind, just a thought of childhood: quite an early GIJOE comic with the Oktober Guard in it. The six-wheeler. That was what I envisioned:

Yup, I know, there is quite a road to tread from one thing to another. Stay with me :D. Some oyumaru and bits later...

Some more bits and greenstuff for the seats...

Now you see where this is going ;D.

So with a couple of muties I finally came to this:

I just used it for this project as it's what I currently have ongoing, but I think it can work for a number of post-apoc or sci-fi settings. Maybe an industial carrier or, if you attach some guns, some kind of military vehicle. In fact I don't think it would look out of place for a Genestealer Cult... ::)
Anyway, here you have the blogpost:

I'm already working on the rest of the tribe, so I hope I can bring some more news son :)

That is an inspired build! Very cool.

It must be the most expensive scratch build ever. Those razor blades cost and arm and a leg.

That's very cool. I collected the GI Joe comic up to around issue 100. Loved the Oktober Guard!

Did you press mold the wheels from Greenstuff?

Ouch, hadn't updated my works :-X

Quick review then. For the pending infantry I had another set of almost identical sprues. That called for more daring conversions, so there were no two identical muties. I used some heads from the Dark Vengeance cultists and some more Skitarii bits, both for heads and legs. This is what I got:

You can find them here if you please :):
http://oldschoolworkshop.blogspot.com.es/2016/11/muties-pt-8-rest-of-bunch.html

But I've just finished the project. I still had the Great Goblin mini, I left it for the end to see what inspiration could I get along the process. I could have made a big guy with some kind of heavy weapon, but I think this was really asking for something more in this fashion ;D:

Having discarded the most obvious visual references (though I was seriously tempted of sculpting some kind of gladiatorial helmet ::)), I kept it simple:

The box contains the little scribe Goblin on top of an strange catapult-like device. I used the trunk of it for a menacing, incongrous look:

The scribe itself would be the Mutant Master, but didn't want it to be on Blaster's shoulders. This looked like natural (if that word has a meaning in this project):

I now miss a roll maker for wiring, tubes, etc. However, I used mere thread for wiring, and I liked the idea. Adds a sense of mess and chaos:

So let's paint it!

Well, with this one I can declare Project Mutant closed :). So this means... family pic!

This is the whole band, in all its glorious insanity. You can find this late progress here:

http://oldschoolworkshop.blogspot.com.es/2016/11/muties-pt-9-end-of-project-and-osw.html

Now some scenarios must be developed accordingly, hmmm...
