That looks great! Definitely fits the bill for a generic space truck.

And I really like to see those GW barrels/boxes stacked on the Stalwart. Maybe I can use the truck with my IG!  :o

Nice, especially the windows.

It is a nice vehicle, very tempting. How did you find assembly?

Thank-you.  The neat fit of the GW crates and barrels is happy coincidence, but does mean that I can have it heavily laden with supplies very easily.

I was a little unsure how the windows would turn out, as the base mid colour was the same I used for the body, but fortunately the black wash for the body contrasted just enough with the layered light and dark on the windows.

Assembly was a bit tricky - I'd probably class it as a medium difficulty build.  The cab needed a bit of trimming and filing to sit properly.  The main side walls needed trimming along the contact edges to sit flush (ish).  The rear bits of the side walls needed a lot of trimming/filing to fit properly.  (And of course, working with resin requires care for dust, etc.)  It's by no means perfect and certainly not up to large scale military modelling standards, but as a wargaming model it's eminently suitable and I'm happy with the overall result.  (Especially given the paucity of suitable civilian(ish) sci-fi trucks available.)   One of the touches I really like though, is that the low pressure (off road) tyres bulge at the bottom - although that does mean you need to be careful to orient them correctly when gluing the wheels in place.

Thanks for all the tips on building the model, I've already ordered it.

Thanks as well.

I have a Spartan I keep taking out of the box and peering at then putting back, and a Ferret which I have just found some suitable period photographs so may assemble.

I've got tentative plans for the (probably quite distant) future to use a Saracen & Ferret to go with the Victoria Miniatures Victorian Guard I will get around to getting at some point.  A lot of the slightly off-piste AFVs have potential applicability in a 40K(ish) environment; the Spartan would make a good Rhino substitute.

I can definitely see the Saracen in use in the future (Judge Dredd and stuff by Masamune Shirow are examples).

I was going to wait until I’ve finished all of these little chaps (or possibly chapesses – it’s hard to tell under that body armour & those sinister masked helmets), but it’s been ages since I last finished any sci-fi figures (as opposed to a Space Truck).  With an impending holiday rudely interrupting my hobbying, it’ll likely be a while before I finish their compadres, so I figured I’d post the first batch.  May I present some nameless PDF Goons.  These guys don’t even have name badges; their sole purpose in life is to die under the swords and guns of our protagonists, making them look suitably heroic in the process.  As AWu recently noted in tomrommel1’s thread, new heads can prove surprisingly effective on the old Cadian plastics.

Nice! Those heads, together with you colour scheme, really do change them up.

I think the heads are these ones: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Infantry-Heads-Helmets/PASGT-gasmask-heads

Anvil is great for IG conversion bits.

Thank-you.

Yup, Predatorpt knows his 3rd party heads.  I originally got them to use with some Scions/Inquisitorial Sturmtruppen, but that project evolved in a different direction (they'll be getting painted in probably a few months' time at the current rate, so I'll tell the full tale then).  In the meantime, those heads and a spare couple of boxes of Cadians lit the inspiration touch paper.  Anvil is, indeed, great for IG conversion bits.

I'm pleased with how the colour scheme came out in the end.  Originally the weapons were plain black, which wasn't quite working.  After a good deal of discussion on my gaming WhatsApp group, someone suggested the light metallic drybrush over black, which it turned out was exactly what they needed to 'pop' without compromising the sinister, dark, limited palette uniform.

Due to a short-notice change of plans, I found myself at a loose end this bank holiday weekend, so put that unexpected free time to good use by finishing off the second batch of nameless PDF Goons a lot earlier than I’d anticipated.  (Whilst browsing the Anvil site, I discovered their assorted officer heads sprue, one of which had the same mask/respirator as the heads I’d used with my goons, which was just all too convenient not to add an officer to make those important Goon command decisions and get in the Sgt’s way.)  This also marks the first time I've finished a legal(ish) 40K squad in about 7 years.
