How do you Complete a Wargame?

So far it hasn't happened for me 

If I can I like/liked to have themed dice, dice tray, cards, props (although that's only Japanese fans for my samurai games so far), music etc. basically anything that makes it an event rather than just a game

This. I detest brightly coloured markers, chits, beads and templates on my game board. Even dice belong on a sideboard, tray.

Some games require markers-

I'm a big fan of X-Wings solution. The cards on the side of the table allow you to keep chits off the play area yet allow you to keep track of shields and crits.

The movement templates detract, but for its simplicity it's a price I am willing to pay.

Of course. One would be naked without a fedora, sun helmet, kepi, turban, Adrian, pickelhaube, beret or fez.

Got that A black hat, a white hat and a sombrero.  Suppose I could use a pinkerton style bowler and a Top Hat of some sort
