AW Miniatures Zulu War Brits comparison
« on: July 03, 2016, 10:16:52 PM »
I have just discovered these. Plenty of pics on the website but I can't find any info on the web about how hey compare with anything else.  :-[ I already have lots of BTD and some Redoubt . I have seen Empress and had them in my hands and I know they are a little bit small compared to BTD. Does anybody have any of the AW Brits and can tell me how they measure up? And any general impressions? Some of them look a bit odd, others look OK.

(edit) Just found another manufacturer- Rapier Miniatures. Found one comparison pic of those they look Empress/Foundry size.

I just got some of the AW miniatures through the post. They came incredibly quickly-only 2 days after I ordered them (in contrast I am still waiting for an order from North Star ordered 2 weeks ago.)

The AW figures are large and chunky.  They don't fit with any other Zulu War figures I have . They would make Empress and Foundry look like children.

They do fit with the large Flashman miniatures from Chiltern (now SHQ) and also some civilian character miniatures I have from Moonfleet and Ironclad.

That being said, I do like them a lot and will get some more.  The detail is OK and they will be easy to paint. If anyone is interested can do some comparison shots.
