Part II. The Game.
The game opened with Henri giving a rousing speech and encouraging his forces into action
The French Marines advance to the edge of the woods and opened fire on the Mohawks, causing them to fall back to the cover of the pigsty.
Meanwhile at the North end of the table the Huron advanced and engaged the militia in a firefight. The militia failed to hit the Huron in the trees but the fire from the indians was devastating, killing all but one of the militia.
Hearing the gunfire and seeing the Militia engaged by the Huron, the rangers start a flanking move on indians
One of the Huron groups, having seen off the militia, move towards the Brewery through the campsite
While the militia, alerted to the presence of the Hurons by the fleeing militiaman take up a defensive position.
With the Mohawks seen off, the French and Canadians get into position and prepare to assault the Brewery
At the same time the Mohawk move down the east side of the table to flank the Marines
Meanwhile . . . the Rangers have closed on the Huron and, after a brief exchange of gunfire, have charged in for the fight
The Huron are beaten back, with the last remaining Brave fleeing the fight. The Rangers seize the opportunity and capture the Huron War Chief
The French and Canadians open fire on the Militia in the Brewery, inflicting multiple casualties and causing chaos among the inebriated troops. Such is the effect of the alcohol that the shooting from the Militia is ineffective against their foes in the cover of the woods. (we gave the militia a -1 to hit and a +1 morale to represent them being drunk)
With the militia concentrating on the French and Canadians, they abandoned the rear defences allowing the Huron to enter unopposed and attack them in the rear.
With the Barrel Store now on fire (thanks to some mischievous Canadian Milice), the remaining militia start to fight a desperate holding action to defend what remains of the beer.
However their drunken state and the enemy's weigh of number soon sees them overrun
With the fight all but done, all that remains is for Henri and his men to exact their revenge . . .
