So... does this mean we're looking at a dungeon-crawl? :)

No, they're mostly skirmish rules. :--)

A little run down of what happened:

1. I wanted a very small set of Kobolds as a give away in the upcoming Halfling KS.
2. God, they were so damn cool.
3. We decided to make a set of spears, bows and a champion
4. Repeat 2
5. We asked Dan M. if he'd up for writing a little set of rules to include in the campaign.
6. The original campaign grew out of proportion and we decided to cut the Kbold stuff off.
7. The rules were extended beyond the initial scope (some comment here in LAF about heroes wading through a sea of critters while swinging their blades got noticed)

Our plan is to have a classic set of RPG/Adventurer type of characters, some henchmen (the guards) and many different Kobolds and other critters to face them. I went as far as to talk to Matt from Model Earth about doing some Kobold themed dungeon tiles (with eggs, traps etc..)
Anyway - the rules will still be small and affordable and something to fluff out on rather than the holy grail of perfect mechanics. The order system is really clever tho, but I guess it will be best to ask Dan to talk about the rules.

Anyway, here's a centipede from that range. Michaels clean sculpting really works well here.

The centipede is a beauty. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Rust Monster, too.

Those rules sound excellent. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who rarely finds the time to put together a 'proper' RPG campaign, but this sounds like something that would scratch the itch without necessarily having a large time commitment!

Given that Dan Mersey is doing the rules, I'm sure it'd be fairly easy to modify according to our whims. I love his rules.

Thank you. I am about to send out play test versions, if this would be of interest to you.

Michael is doing a proper version with attached legs cut into 4 pieces.
I am pondering with a 'pro' version made of 1 big body part and 100000000 little feet. It would likely be a good bit more expensive since the casting would be a right nightmare.

These look fantastic! If kobold samples are still going or if any more playtesters are needed, I'd love to get involved. I'll send a PM.

I received my sample kobots today. LOVE The sculpts, the quintessential kobolts imho. Painting them right now, I'll get some pictures when the light is a bit better.

They are very nice aren't they. Small but so well detailed. I'll definitely be getting some more.

I've likely just missed it, but were you planning to have any Kobolds in robes or heavier armour? The little guys seem to be known for their sorceror inclinations after all, and a big boss would be great!

Yep, A shaman, some armoured elite and a Kobold king on Dragon skull throne are in the planning.
