15mm and Napoleonic.  Something I've never had much success with, but that is a nicely done unit.   8)

The only problem with Austrians though is the snow blindness from all that white!

This probably won't help....  :`

Infantry Regiment #1 "Kaiser" now painted, based and flocked.  That is textured paint onto the steel bases, painted flat earth, highlighted in "dunkelgelb" and the static grassed with spring/summer grass.

So I'm now up to date with AP2016 for August.  However, the nice thing about doing these units in batches of two is that Infantry Regiment #31 "Benjowsky" with Emperor yellow facings is well on the way to completion and I've got a fighting chance of finishing them before going on holiday.....watch this space.

Painting going well this weekend as I try and get ahead of the game before summer holidays.

Infantry Regiment #31 "Benjowsky" all painted up - just needs to be properly based now.

This time I've included a close up - or what passes for one with my poor photography.

My second unit is now painted, based and in the bag.  So I'm now all up to date for 1 September and can go on my holidays!  8)

Introducing Infantry Regiment #41 "Kottulinsky" (I had given them the wrong name earlier and yellow facings rather than Emperor Yellow) - same figures, technique and approach as previously - just a bit easier/quicker as I already had the yellow paint pot open for the facings.

Now some "group shots" of the Generalmajor Czollich's Brigade of Feldmarschall-lieutenant Weissenwolf's 2nd Line Division of Feldzeugmeister Gyulai's Left Wing at the Battle of Dresden 1813 consisting of:
1/,2/,3/ Kottulinsky Infantry Regiment #41 (2,764)
1/,2/,3/ Kaiser Infantry Regiment #1 (2,910)

Next up....another 2 German infantry units in march attack....sorry to be so boring but I've got to just keep on tapping away at this lot.  I'm saving the guns and a general, which are sitting on the panting table waiting to reward me when I've finished 6 units of infantry.

I've got my painting mojo back after the holidays and have now finished my third unit.  Sorry but its more dull white German infantry marching....only 3 more to go!

This one is Infantry Regiment #28 "Frelich" (sometimes "Frohlich") from Bohemia with grass green facings.

Next up to complete the Brigade is Infantry Regiment #36 "Kollowrath" however, I've cracked and started on doing some of the artillery.

I've finished my fourth Austrian Infantry Regiment of the challenge.  This one is Infantry Regiment #36 "Kollowrath."  There is some debate whether the facings should be light grey or mauve depending on the reference, so I have done them a very greyish mauve.

And now the Brigade shot with Infantry Regiment #28 "Frelich."  This is Generalmajor Grimmer's Brigade of Feldmarschall-lieutenant Weissenwolf's 2nd Line Division of Feldzeugmeister Gyulai's Left Wing at the Battle of Dresden 1813 consisting of:
1/,2/Kollowrath Infantry Regiment #36 (2,071)  and  1/,2/Fröhlich Infantry Regiment #28 (1,143)

Very nice indeed - I have a big pile of Austrians within my even bigger pile of unpainted AB figures (which in turn is part of my bigger pile still of....well you get the idea I'm sure). Obviously with Austrians the colour comes with the cavalry.

I'm getting a bit of colour these days now I'm doing the artillery....more of that later.  However, I think I'll try to break the back of doing the 12 regiments of German Infantry in my lead mountain before rewarding myself with some Hungarians (at least the trousers are blue!)  However the first 2 regiments of Chevaux-Legiers are also sitting in the mountain if I need a colour fix.  That said the first few coats of paint went on a batch of General Officers last night and I'm loving their red trousers.

Sorry I've been away on business for a few weeks and so the painting has suffered.   Hence I didn't manage to base up the Artillery until now....so here it is:

I've also finished Infantry Regiment #7 "Wurzburg" with blue facings - could have used dark brown facings but not sure when they changed so went with blue as I preferred the colour.  Can swap with another regiment later if needed.

Infantry Regiment #8 "Erzherzog Ludwig" on the painting table.

Once again sorry about the amateur photography but hope you enjoy.
