A town in the making - Beau Gus Junction
« on: July 12, 2016, 05:57:04 AM »
Well for better or worse here is the results of my efforts for the last several months.  Beau Gus Junction.

Beau Gus Junction -Founded by Immigrant brothers Beau and Gus Quinn, as a Pony Express station.  They used their service land bounty claims from the war with  Mexico.

Problem is, it ain't a junction and no pony express ever made use of their station.  In fact 'til ten years ago the population consisted of Beau, Gus, Beau's wife Rosa and children - but something really big happened one fortuitous afternoon.

It took the brothers almost 30 years of swindling and finagling to build the town to this point.  Though they did have a benefactor who got them started...

In the end the town will have a lead population of 250 to 300 when everyone is in town - citizens and cowpokes.  They are currently in various stages of painted completion - soon, very soon...

Not that I'm one to talk what with north of 700 civilians for my THREE old west towns abuilding but you are looking at 15 to 20 people per building - unless you are going to have more than 16 structures that I count so far.  That's one busy town you are working on!

Looking forward to seeing it populated.

Lol good point Nick.  Luckily many of them are transients, or just in town for a hoot.

Need to get a real count on abiding citizena.

just in town for a hoot.

It's probably Friday night and they just got paid! They need to lose all that money on liquor, poker and women!   ;)

No worries - there seem to be a fair few of us using Mr. Hemingway's image hereabouts.  As a writer me-self, was but a natural selection.  Why, perhaps even Darwinian.  And, yes, sometimes I type faster than my internal editor can monitor.  Pisses him off, too.

Damn!  These pics came out sorta blurry and grainy.  Sorry about that.  From now on I use a camera and not a phone to take pics.

Anyway - the following are close to moving into town (still have to be highlighted, dipped and sprayed and base completed):

I like your scatter terrain - a fruit and vegetable open air market.  Better be in some good quality farm land, though.  Else how are you going to justify all that?  And it has to be late summer or autumn, too.   :D
