I'd really like to branch out from Darkest Africa to Sudan at some point and quite like the Perry's. How do they stack up next to the various Mark Copplestone figures? And how are the Perry plastic Madhists and Brits vs. their metal figures? Any help is appreciated.  :)

Copplestone  Castings are generally a bit bigger.  Foundry Copplestone vary.  Perry plastics are just the same as their metal.

I mix them all with no worries at all because I like the variety.  Remember, you will be viewing them from 3 ft on the table.  However, I know some folks don't like to mix.  It's all about personal taste.

I mix Perry, Copplestone, and Foundry freely.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

I think proportion and sculpting style are way more important than "size."

In art, the ideal human is seven and a half heads tall (including the head).

Noble figures are 8 heads tall allowing for a taller more slender look.

Heroic proportions are usually eight and a half heads tall allowing for greater chest girth and longer legs.

If the proportions are the same, any height difference looks like someone 5'2" standing next to someone 6'.
If the proportions are off even if the height is exactly the same the figures may look dwarvish i.e. head too big for the body size or out of proportion with the rest of the body.

This can be especially apparent in some 6mm, 10mm or even some 15mm figures when the headgear ls almost a quarter of the total height of the figure.

If the proportions are the same, the height (25mm, 28mm or 32mm) is virtually irrelevent. The figures simply look like humans of different heights.

I've always found Perrys and Copplestones do look good together.

Just my humble opinion. Your mileage may vary.  ;)

I'm far from a stickler for my toy soldiers being of identical proportions so if the common thread here is "they look good together", that's enough for me.  :D. Thanks all!
