Vietnam War in 15mm
« on: May 01, 2015, 09:46:33 PM »
Figures by Battlefront:

The minis are adorable, I really want some SEALS and Brown Water Navy stuff now but I still have lots of infantry a Huey and Anzacs as well as some Vietnamese peasants to paint first (at least that's what She says...).

Cheers

They are beautiful figures and lovely painting to boot.

And I'm looking forward to Brown Water Navy too.

Still waiting for BWN to be released by BF in Oz. Although we live next door to the company, Oz releases have to come via the UK!  :-[

Great!

I was pleased with mine but yours are certainly inspiring. I suppose they are the new US infantry castings, the original ones were a bit hit and miss for me (some great figures some less great).

I think I will skip the Brown Water stuff, tried to do them in 15mm once (PP PBR and Scenic Effects ATC and Monitors) and I realized that, while from a modelling standpoint they are very nice from a gaming standpoint you need a giant table to really get in a full action. Your river will be too short for anything similar ot iconic action as the Rach Ba Rai. Still they make a good backdrop for a river landing (but you have alraddy ran the gauntlet). 6mm or 3mm are more reasonable scale for the river gauntlet themselves.

On the other hand a thing that I want to do is small action with my PBRs with their mobile checkpoints and Junk chases.

Excellent painting.
I am doing some Brown Water Navy stuff in 28mm.
Look forward to see what you do in 15's.

VERY nice indeed!  Are these new sculpts?

I went for a USMC force initially, using Flashpoint Miniatures
Having seen this eye candy, now I'm thinking I might need a few US Army guys to leap off my LCM*s and other craft down in the Delta...

You should think about popping over the the Fields of Fire forums and posting there also

I'll just echo everyone else... Those are remarkably nice minis, especially for 15mm.

Looking forward to more!

Very nice and great work. But I am over 40, so I need 28mm and bigger to paint it. My eyes became bad in the last years. lol

Wow those are amazing. Great paint job. I like 15mm for Vietnam and try but can't get anything like that result. Impressive and can't wait to see more. :o

I've shamefully neglected my Vietnam project but today I managed to actually add some GIs (and a lonely Vietnamese farmer).
The platoon is nearly complete, only a couple of M60 teams, medic + casualty and some grunts to do.

Cheers
