I estimate over 200 hours of lunchtimes and tea breaks to complete 'Sahyun'...
I will be using it for gaming, just not soon. I've switched back to my 15mm Back of Beyond - making more scenery
Warriors dreams, summer grasses, all that remains

Just a post to inform you that the fortress will be the centrepiece of an Armies of Arcana game planned for Salute 2010.

I will be contributing 3 armies to the Salute 2010 demo game. Two of which will be laying siege to 'Sahyun'. One of which is my Southron army, now (finally) rolling off the production line after several years R&D etc. These pics were taken a couple of weeks ago. Still some finishing touches but the army is now substantially complete...

Good stuff.  That's really going to be quite the site on a table-top.  I really like the colors.

Those elephants are beautiful!  Great sculpts, too.  What manufacturer are they from?  Gripping Beast, maybe?

Can you give me an idea how big they are compared to the Wargods of Aegyptus (Crocodile Games) elephant?

Beauty. A multitude of uses, from 1001 Nights to Crusaders to Karl May in the Ottoman Empire to Indiana Jones vs. the whirling dervishes.

And the rest, the white tree and the general look gives me a few Gondorian ideas I can tell you! :D Very nice indeed

The Mumaks are all converted toy african elephants heavily clad in milliput and green stuff with scratchbuilt balsa howdahs. The cheapest was 50p from a charity shop, the most expensive £5 from a toy shop... I have 3 more to do!

They are considerably larger than 'normal' historical heffalumps... (approx 4x normal size) see size comparison

There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that you are a very accomplished and creative artist.

The army is magnificent. The fortress is ....staggering.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

The fortress at Salute 2010

The view from the Donjon overlooking the battlefield... Elvish cavalry tries to punch through the lines as a relief force advances in the far distance but is headed off by a vast array of undead (large and small)

Another photo (taken by a fan)

An aerial view of the siege lines at the start of the game, Orcs to the left, Haradrim on the right... with contingents of Dwarves and Men sallying forth
