Can Neapolitan troops be used as other Italian States?
« on: July 19, 2016, 08:19:49 AM »
Having been looking at Gringos40 Neopolitan troops, I have been wondering if they can be used as troops from other Italian states?

I think Neapolitan troops had a bardin style lapel, I would use earlier French figures as Italians, but I'm no expert.

they can easily do for Pontifical troops...of course those in greatcoat...the Pope's Army was more modern, in aspect , than the Neapolitan one...but once the greatcoat is used the difference is very light... ..for example Gringo 's Dragoon Officer could pass easily for a Pontifical Dragoon as the beautiful cape it's sporting was a favourite piece of both Neapolitans and Pontifical Cav.
The Neapoliatn Artillery is almost identical to the Pontifical one..even concernig the colour of uniform...Consider also Mexican Adventure.. for what i see from the picts, many of the Imperial troops of Gringos' Mexican Range are perfect for Risorgimento..above all Pontifical..but also Neapolitan...at the end of the Reign the élite of the Army ..the Cacciatori..plus the 2 foreign mercenary regiments (Bavarian and Swiss/Germans) where clothed with French type uniforms similar to the French in Mexico ones..even the unconfortable havelock képi, which appear in some Gringo minis,  was largely used by Pontifical Army...you cannot even imagine what is  the sun and heat of Central/Southern  Italy from june to september....in this very moment i'm sweating so much that every few lines i have to leave the mouse and handle a glass of ice tea or very cold bear.. lol
