Indian Mutiny - Rifles & Spears
« on: July 17, 2016, 02:14:58 PM »
Gents,

Rifles & Spears, my adaptation of Muskets & Tomahawks, has been used in a number of Darkest Africa settings. Whilst this is/has been its primary focus, the intention was always to widen out the scope of the game and include a number of other period related interests of mine. The game is very flexible and really works more or less as a Black Powder era mass skirmish game system.

Interests include wide ranging periods such as the Texian War, American Civil War, Maori Wars, Cape Wars and the subject of this post, the Indian Mutiny…there are others. The game is very flexible and provides a great blend for mass skirmish, small battle  dioramic game encounters.

In this post I’m offering up a few thoughts on slightly more detailed cavalry and artillery rules in Rifles & Spears and a number of eye candy pics from my Indian Mutiny army.

Hope it is of some interest…to be followed by some game reports down the line.

Cheers

Happy Wanderer

Yep. ;D

Lovely work on the figures, especially liking the chap with the monkey on his shoulder. ;D

I want a sailor with a monkey on his shoulder, too!  Anyone make one in 15 mm?  Closest I know of is figure from Brigade in there only two 15 mm packs ever promoted (that I know of any way - and Lon's Brigade, not the other one).  Nice work.

Working 4 weeks away from home so no painting at all,  but seeing all those lovely Indian Mutiny figures expertly painted really made my day! Really fine job you did here!
Oh well, another 2 weeks.... :)

Fantastic work! A pal and I have been discussing resurrecting our Indian Mutiny collections and now you've provided a perfect set of rules. Bravo Sir, bravo!
