How would you stat the joker and red hood?
« on: July 27, 2016, 05:29:17 AM »
I'm a marvel guy, always have been.  My brother read DC and I read Marvel.

The recent spate of DC TV shows has me watching them with my kids, and of course thinking about gaming them with my kids. I've got a good set of modded rules that I'll be using and I want to play the villains for my kids to vanquish.

I'm thinking of the red hood and the joker, but I don't know a great deal about their combat abilities.  What would you say we're the main things/themes to incorporate to capture their essence in a combat oriented game?

Are we talking SS4 or what kind of system?

These are the stats I used in my display game for Joker:

The Joker

Strength   4   Mind   5
Resolve   4   Agility    5
Hits:
         KO
AP: 8
Physical   Hit   5   Resist   4
Mental   Hit   5   Resist   4

Attacks (3 AP)
Joy Buzzer [5]: Melee 6 Damage
Fish Guns [5]: 18" Range 6 Damage
Joker Gas
  • : Template 8 Damage

Powers/Abilities
Clown Prince of Crime (A): Joker is immune to all fear-based Resolve Tests.
Thanks Doll (2): Heal 1 Hit from Joker. Deal 1 Hit to Harley Quinn.
Smiling Psychopath (A): A model must win an Opposed Resolve Test to Charge Joker.
Deadly (A): Any model ending their Activation in Base Contact with Joker takes 1 Damage.
Smilex (A): Joker ignores all Gas and Chemical based attacks.

Probably needs work, been a while since that game.

Thanks for the lead Hatguy.  I'm going to use Blasters&Bulkheads2, same system as supersystem, but simplified.  I will have to really stretch it to do supers, but it will be simple enough for my kids.

Not sure how helpful this will be, but for most of the bat family I would play it in pulp alley. The focus upon objectives rather then straight up brawl, mostly villains who are strong/fast or have a single specific gimmick. Allowing for the use of cool gadgets every now and again.

I'm looking for a brawl :)  I think Pulp Alley is a bit to complicated for the crew, there are a number of nuances involved in combat.  I'd prefer the more simple system in Blasters and Bulkheads.

Plot points are easily adapted to any system...
