Very interesting insights. Maybe a chance to link our Cornwell/O'Brian'esque skirmish games with some sail action. And it is shiny. Guess I'm in.

@joroas, sadly there are other things to be released first, i.e. WAB 2.0 and a Great War supplement. Also heard of a HYW book being in the pipeline. Therefore I don't think Divine Winds will be out soon. If it's a comfort: I'm still waiting for supplements dealing with the Successors, Greek & Persian Wars & the Crusades, that have been also announced for ages.

So are these rules about ship action (cannonades, manouvering and the like) or skirmish type boarding action?

If they are based on man o' war I am guessing ship action...?

any suggestions on where to get ships for it I have some man o war galleys.

Additonally, there´s the Figurehead ship range in 1/2400 available in Europe from Magister Militum. Out of a whim, I bought a handful of ships at last year´s Crisis convention and painted them up in December - only got around taking pictures now! Go figure!

A small Royal Navy squadron, which will be centered on a number of frigates and some supporting types. I´m aiming at gaming some of Pellew´s exploits or the fictionalised variations thereof found in the Hornblower novels.



And some opposition, a Spanish frigate and two French privateer cutters. Will paint a French frigate as well.



The €-Cent is for size comparison and about 2/3 the size of a UK penny. Don´t know about American money, but the ships are from 1 to 2,5/3cm base length.
