Inglourious Basterds Bolt Action WW2
« on: March 01, 2016, 03:34:48 PM »
I have been persuaded to play WW2 by my group and I want to do something interesting and fun.

We will be playing Bolt Action from warlord and I will be running a late war partisan/resistance list from their French and allies list book. Not sure if people are familiar with it at all. Here is a picture!

As I am having some fun, my veteran infantry unit will be the 10 Basterds.

Should be a fun project and I will be running a bit on it here as well as asking advice. So on that, any recommendations on where to start with regard to models? They are mostly US infantry I think, or rangers?
Any good Brad Pitt character model ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for reading!

If you're after a characterized style of models, i'd go with Artizan models. They are not top-of-the-gamma in terms of sculpting quality but really full of personality! And they mix very well with other companies too!

Eureka Miniatures' pulp range might have something over the top to suit.

Thanks for the tips guys, Found loads of cool stuff, unfortunately couldn't find anything quite right so am probably going to have to build from kits and convert them in to what I need!

I am thinking US infantry as a base, they never wear helmets and there is a german in there for good measure! So probably will use the Warlord USA infantry or marines bodies as a base and go from there. Am now looking for some suitable heads for the bodies! Then the plan is to equip them with German weapons as that is all they use in the film.

May have found my Brad Pitt though, have ordered it and its on its way.

Hugo and the 'Bear Jew' are the important ones to really get to sell the unit I think. will update when I start to actually build them.

All the Basterds are built!

We were working on 500 points, and I have now built all but the vehicles!

Am pretty happy with all of them. Time to get some paint on them I guess!

Pics to follow soon.
