So, we organised a brutal 4-player battle in continuation of our mini-campaign.

Indian and white forces attack from the north, indians attack the railway station, held by small workers battalion, whites attack the village with a vital water source. Reds also need water and send strong infantry force to their left flank. Railway station is reinforced with some artillery and big cavalry squadron is sent to the far right (to outflank the sepoys).

Red cavalry - lots of austro-hungarian internationalists.

Generally speaking, battle quickly fell into two separate ones: station affair and a village meatgrinder.

British commander made risky decision - initiate quick and ruthless assault on worker's positions, take it and hold against advancing red cavalry. Allied artillery and HMG on the central hill could give fire support to any of the allied forces and supress cavalry if needed.

Unfortunately for british, their plan didn't survive harsh meeting with reality. Despite the barricade being broken and half of the workers bayonetted by muslim company, the rest of demoralised defenders stoically resisted and repulsed the attack. Red cavalry, while being systematically pinned by accidental 18-pdr shells, began their "wave attacks" on the sikhs, waiting in the rye fields.

Battle for the station was decided by another risky decision of british colonel. Instead of acting as Wellington at Waterloo (standing in defensive formation and meeting enemy with successive volleys), he ordered a countercharge on a disordered cavalry! Initially this move was very successfull - third of cavalrymen perished in this close combat. But the other two thirds quickly retaliated, and cut most of the sepoys to shreds. After losing roughly 75% of the force, british retreaded in disorder.

Meanwhile on another flank reds and whites fought for supremacy in a series of clumsy and badly organised attacks.

White cavalry perished with no success, except for some single riders, who managed to exploit a gap in red lines and cut an HMG team. Red assault on white-held house made a short success, as it was soon destroyed by artillery shell, followed by countercharge from officer company, who finished most of survivors.

Finally both sides poured into the central "square" but acted indecisevely and failed to drive the enemy out of it.

Battle ended with a sound victory to the reds. While losing a third part of both  cavalry and infantry (and a lot of machineguns, both light and heavy), they managed to hold a station and inflict very heavy losses on british force. Whites also suffered moderate-heavy casualties. Needless to say, in this battle white force performed quite well, despite their low characteristics.

The jumped up Major (now Colonel after the old Colonel was killed last battle) did not have the proper care for his Indian troops. The colonial masters are clearly secumbing to the inevitable historical victory of the proleteriat!! Urrah!Urrah!  :D

I love the final scrum in the square. It reminds of descriptions that I have heard of skirmishes with Pashtun tribesmen on the NW frontier.

Looked like a satisfying game with plenty of action. Where are the houses from?
