Some of the buildings i know from the Aggro Thread.
Do you build pavements for the board?

Thanks,

I don't know what to do about pavements. I'd like to do some, but not really sure whether to do lots of little sections for extra variation, or a few large sections, that should look better, but will offer a bit less flexibility.

Not even sure whether I want to do them in MDF or plastic.

Monkey I know you mostly scratch build usually building a whole town from scratch whilst I build one house from a kit! But there is a few pavements available. Of the top of my head there is warbases (mdf) ks laser design (mdf), outpost and ainsty.

Cheers, I was thinking of bigger road + pavement boards to place the buildings on top of, etc. But I do like those KS jigsaw-y fit pieces.

Nice manor, my son!  8)

The pavements for my Geezers table are a mix.  Most of my buildings were scratch-built before the proliferation of laser-cut MDF.  They have an integral pavement of an MDF base extending to the front which was then 'paved' with card paving slabs:

I also made stand-alone lengths of pavement by embossing foam-PVC:

Some lengths of pavement were made with integral walls along one edge to be able to make alleyways etc.

Larger paved areas are also possible (big enough to put multiple buildings on) if you are happy to emboss such a large area:

Before painting:

After painting:

I also did the masters for Outpost: http://www.outpostwargameservices.co.uk/buildings.html

My own lengthy Geezers thread: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=7181.0

Sorted!  ;)

Thanks,

Great thread, too, Overlord.

I've never had much success with embossing, but I suspect I have never found the right foam. I also like the idea of larger paved areas to stick bits on, or to stand whole buildings on, or just to give space.

I bought mine from Antenociti for smaller sheets, such as:  http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/3mm-white-foamed-pvc.html

I also bought large sheets (8'x4') of 3mm and 5mm thick from Ebay and still have some years later.  If you are going to use a lot this is much more cost effective.

How you emboss it makes a difference. I use a rounded tool similar to this:
