HVM on Safari - A Congo diary (28th of Oct: TRIBAL WARRIOR)
« on: August 22, 2016, 07:13:19 PM »
Hey everyone,

its been pretty quiet on my painting bench for a long time but this is about to change now. After Studio Tomahawks "Congo" publishing I'm totally drawn to start a few war bands for my own. Some european explorers, african tribesmen and masai are planned.
I will use this thread as a little diary with WIPs of the process, some background infos and at the end (of course) my cinematic photographs  :)

Foundrys african princess makes the start.

Cheers,
Daniel

Lovely work Daniel. As I'm in a similar position to you with Congo I'm very much looking forward to following your progress.  :)

My involuntary comment to my lady friend Donna when I saw the African Princess was:

"WOW - - THIS boy can PAINT !"
"Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."

That would be perfect wouldn't it?  ;D

As promised: the witchdoctor!
The mask was so much fun to paint. Am already looking forward to the next one.

I managed a half way decent copy of the paint scheme for this figure shown on the Foundry website and was pretty pleased with it.  Then I saw your excellent work.   Groan.

Best one yet!  :D

The witch doctor models are some of my favourite by Foundry and this one is outstanding. I love the subtlety of the design on the face mask. Brilliant.  :)
