Separate katana or hands with katana (28mm)?
« on: August 29, 2016, 02:12:55 AM »
Are there any manufacturers of separate katana or hands with katana for 28mm? Metal, preferably harder pewter, would be ideal. Thanks!

Hasslefree do them as weapon options for a lot of their minis. I dont know if they sell them seperately though.

Dixon used to some. Not sure if they still do but maybe worth a look?

Not metal, but the Wargames Factory samurai sets have some really good plastic ones...and for katana, the plastic ones tend to look better since they're thinner and look more correct.

Heresy. It makes a surprising left hand wielding a katana

Does anybody know if anyone sells metal katana in scabbards? I know Dixon does them, but I'm guessing they are the relatively ornate ones that are on their Samurai. I'm after plain ones to convert some Perry figs to go with the Bac Ninh Boshin stuff I'm painting at the mo

Has anyone ever tried to do etched brass sword blades? Seems they would be the right thickness for katana (well most other swords too). Perhaps that would be too thin to give a reasonably robust model?
It is possible to make swords from brass wire but that's too much work if there are lots of figures to do.

Museum miniatures used to sell them in their 28mm samurái range. They can help you locate them, I guesd
