So with the creation of some more alien plants, I think I finally have enough terrain to start gaming 15mm sci-fi.

Alien tube plants made from plastic straws melted over candle flame (be careful if you try it, they don't need to touch the flame at all):

And more dollar store fake plants glued to pennies:

Forest shot:

And the whole table:

A few more pictures on my blog, but those are the important ones.  The forest floor is made up of multiple small pieces of flocked felt, so I can make many smaller forests instead of one big one.

And, as I said before, ventilation, ventilation, ventilation.

Really looks smashing!

If the players can't get in to the spirit on THAT spread, check their pulses!

Thanks everyone!

The_Beast, I'll make sure all my posts talk about melting plastic or solvents or something like that.  lol

That's a great looking table.  Your color selection is excellent - it really looks like an organic, but still alien, landscape.  Particularly like the contrast with the dark gray/brown tabletop.

The bright pink fake plant parts really help with that.  Apparently there are lots of different fake plants in that colour, so I'll probably be adding more of it.  I won't necessarily pile it all on at the same time, but I will have more variety.

Well, I'll probably pile it on at least once or twice.

Looks like I forgot a picture with the plants spread out a bit more:
