Riflemen's Final Piece
« on: September 01, 2016, 09:59:20 AM »
The last 2 trees have been planted and the "mud" layered in all around them. Two coats of drybrushing, some leaf scatter and a few well placed plants and this will finally be finished. Some quick cosmetics.
This is one of the best pieces I have ever made. At least in my own opinion.

98% finished. I'll take a few shots of all 3 pieces together, when this is done.

Nice work. Is it a gaming piece, with the troops separate, or a single display model with the troops fixed in place?

Another stunning piece (hell, we know I'm a fan) - the ground litter, the figures, the trees and the flowers - all in concert with each other.

Fred, It's not a gaming piece, per se. I'm not a gamer.
But, I can envision a game where these larger pieces could be used.

Perhaps someone here can find an excuse to use these in their game.

I did think the figures were blended too well into to the base for them to be separate pieces - but some of the WSS covers have display pieces were the individual figures can be removed, so I wasn't sure.

As piece it could certainly be used in a game to show an ambush or even just an area controlled by the militia.

Its a great looking piece - I do like the way you have fitted the poses of the figures to the terrain

I apologize for not crediting the figure painter here.
Most of the figures are Battle Honors bodies with heads replaced by Kings Mountain Miniatures heads.
There are a Perry or two (the guy in the tree is a stock Perry riflemen) and an Old Glory frontiersman.

All of the figure were converted by me and the most excellent brushwork was done by Mr. John Bryant.
Once again, my oversight for failing to credit Mr. Bryant, who has no peer, as far as I am concerned.
