Thanks all!

Angry, ready for war Odin is nearing completion - hope to finish the sculpting (hair, facial hair, belt.. maybe some small details) tomorrow. Worked out roughly 9 times better than hoped for, when done he may well be the favourite model in my collection.

Also finished some of the troops - camera decided to focus on the background on the thief and javelineer, so pictures of those later. Doggies are also near-enough done. Just to decide on the bases now.. was going to opt for a nice Frostgrave/Nordic amount of snow and deadish plants, but they'll be fighting in the Breeding Pits for the next few missions...

Thug #1, Svein. In the party's first game, he found treasure, picked it up and brought it to the base. What more can you ask for?

Thug #2, Harald. Was founded last game, got injured - and thus fired from the party. Might come back if financially in dire straits.

The only decent soldier in my starting band, Bjorn the tunnel fighter. Blocked off a tunnel to protect my spellcasters for many a turn, fighting a demon and a possessed infantrymen. Eventually went down, but quickly recovered, ready for more - that's the spirit!

Odin is.. so nearly done. Don't dare to add the finishing touches until I'm sure the previous layer as hardened though, so one more day.

In the meantime, some pictures of four more warband members - also started painting the last soldiers (two knights) and Thor.

O'Malley, javelineer (critically hit an opposing archer on his first shot. Who needs shooting skills when you can just roll a 20?)

Héri, thief

Geri and Freki, wolvish war hounds

As hoped for (and befits a Norse god), he was somewhat improved by a bit more hair. The big man himself is done now!

Some really great work. Thumbs up. I especially like Odin the wanderer.

My only minor critique would be that Mjølner, Thor's hammer really should have a short handle.

The spellcasters have a little bit of paint applied to them now, should be able to finish them within a few days. In the meantime, two knights and Thor have been painted up:

Egil and Olaf

And the captain - although the handle was significantly shorter than the original axe shaft, I too felt it was a bit too long compared to the usual depictions (although technically, IIRC, it's main problem was that the shaft was too short to allow it to be used as a two-handed, it doesn't have to be absolutely tiny, so had shortened it already since the previous pictures). Painted on lightning worked out better than expected, glad I went for that rather than any sculpted on fancy details.

Not sure about a shield design yet, hence the current blank (or at least black) surface.

Really nice.

The shortening of Mjølnir works. And nice lighting effect.

Lovely painting! Such an evocative warband, plus you can always use it for SAGA too!
