If you asked me a while ago about using paper cutouts for wargaming, I would probably scoff and say "no thanks..."

But you know this is actually kinda interesting. It would be a great way to try out alternative rulesets, for larger games.... My current project is WOTR / 15th century for 'big battle' rules of my own devising, but this could be used for actual realistically big battles using other rules more suitable for larger games, I'm thinking Hail Caesar...

How many 'units' do you get in the book?
And how tall are they? Would they more or less scale with my 28mm scenery?

They're 28mm foot to eye "as is". The books contain "master" sheets that are copyright free for personal use. The idea is that you scan and print them or that you take them to your local copyshop and then print off as many as you want. Of course that means that you can rescale them if you wish.

The WotR book contains named leaders (foot and mounted), liveried bills and bows for those leaders, mounted and dismounted Men-at-Arms, "light" horse/prickers, unliveried bills and bows, artillery, lowland Scots spears, mercenary handgunners, mercenary xbows, Swiss/German pike, Irish mercenaries, civilians, casualties, terrain, rules, banners...I think that covers it!!!

They look fantastic I must say. I'm seriously tempted to buy the WOTR one just for the liveries and banners.

However, I'll probably go to Books Etc for them, since they seem able to sell them for less than wholesale prices most of the time!

Hey, I don't mind where you buy them from so long as you buy them and enjoy them  lol

Thanks for the head's up, I got 'em all! I bought the WOTR one, the 1066 one and even the English Civil War one (why not), all for about £22.

Should be a nice Crimbo pressie for my brother (after I've scanned the master sheets of course).

Cool! I'm going to get the 1066 version, the artwork alone makes it a worthwhile purchase  :)
