Pulpocalypse: Market Day In Gomorrah
« on: 26 September 2016, 03:31:35 AM »
I've started building up figures and terrain for a post-apocalypse game I'm planning. First up: Pharma Jon, a drugs and medical shop built on the skeleton of a high-voltage transmission tower.

Very nice!

What will you be playing?
Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

I'll be using Pulp Alley. I've made four different teams: scavenger-types, mutants, cyborg assassins, and shelter-dwellers in hazmat suits. I'll post pictures, plus my team rosters, soon.

Nice!

We cobbled together some Zombie Apoc. mods for Pulp Alley, would be happy to share if you are still looking for ingredients to add to your brew.  ;).

Amazing work! It would look right at home in Fallout: New Vegas.  :) 8)

Agreed - I'd be interested in seeing some mods to Pulp Alley to run zombie games.

The tin shack looks excellent!

Next up: some ruined roads

I was really happy with how these turned out. They will be perfect for Axles & Alloys, too.

More photos, and a link to the tutorial where I learned how to make them, Here.

Wow. I'm sold!

Have been tempted to try asphalt shingle as a base for roads, but this is superior!

I need to build some Plot Point markers for my Post Alley games. I've been trying to think of things I could represent on a penny-sized counter, that would be valuable to a post-nuclear wastelander, while trying to avoid obvious and overused things like ammo stashes or fuel barrels. Here are some ideas my wife and I have come up with so far:

- computer hooked up to a car battery
- cooler full of medicine
- water filtration station
- solar-powered ham radio
- wheelbarrow
- sun-heated shower stall
- horse/dog/pig
- small windmill

Which of these, if any, I build will depend largely on how difficult scratch-building will be. If you have any ideas to add, please share!

Some quick and easy print and fold boxes of C-Rats might fit in nicely.

Hmmm....  I'm really enjoying this (my creative juices are flowing) Here's a few suggestions,

Food Crates
Fire Hydrant
Chickens
Firewood
Weapons/Tools
A Spare Tire
Pumpjack
Sleeping Bag
Matress/Bedspring

That's all I have for now... Stay tuned cuz I'm sure I'll come up with a few more...

Really?  None of you have hit on the most obvious resource that is scarce for the Lone Wanderer?

Porn.  Magazine, holotape, DVD, whatever...

Even less PC - hostage/slave.

Child.

Here's what my brain could come up with:

 - I'm not sure if this falls under your "obvious/common" category, but metal?  Whether it's industrial junk or just scrap,
   it's definitely useful.
 - Charcoal: while yeah, you'd probably only find this rarely, sometimes beams in a housefire can "cook" more than they
actually burn.  This charcoal would be pretty useful in getting hot enough fire to work the above metal.  I'd picture this
being the remnants of a fire, maybe a cracked and ashy beam that has "charcoal-ized"
 - A coiled hose
 - seed packets or plant bulbs/pots!  For some reason I imagined these being in a little red wagon  lol
 - A condenser/condensation collector/cloud catcher : something that collects water  :)
 - a pile of pipes
 - creature eggs/nest
 - a grave, could be opened or not, maybe with a shovel?
 - a little garden plot
 - a hollowed out rock (like in Fallout 3 behind Megaton  :D )
 - that universal tool, DUCTTAPE  lol  possibly a big sack with a few rolls spilling out
