Help trying to find a suitable figure .
« on: October 02, 2016, 02:15:12 PM »
I'M after suggestions for a middle aged/old , high status , fantasy, female leader/states person type figure.  There dress style could be anything from classical up to ,at a stretch , the Regency. So far the only older female figure i've come across look like Halloween witches.
Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Many thanks.

How's this?

If not, it's worth a trawl through the other entries in Bad Squiddo's "Believable Female Miniatures" category.

Thanks for that ,she would have been great ,but the hats a bit off putting ,and i don't think i have the ability to cut the top of her head off and build her some new hair.

The only other old women i could find on Squiddo was a peasant woman ,who wouldn't do as a leader

Gripping Beast used to have some older Viking women.
Or there may be some amongst Foundry (Greeks etc have some if you want classical) front Rank have Regency.

There are some respectable women in the Lead Adventure Miniatures range too, including the Arnolfini wedding lady:

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

If you're able/willing to wait for November, the free miniature given at entry of Crisis Antwerp this year is a Norman/Brettonian queen. And judging from the green, she could possibly be painted as being old.

She's also hatless... ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Have a look at Darksword miniatures they do a load of GoT characters and much much more. Pretty sure you should find something suitable there - also if you're UK based Annie (Bad Squiddo/Dice Bag Lady) stocks some DarkSword stuff.

There are some great figures in the range ,but only two old women ,one has an over elaborate hat , the other's a maid .
So sadly neither are what i'm after .

I didn't realise it would be so hard to find a figure of an old woman

How about the Dunedain Female Mage from Mithril?
http://www.mithril.ie/dunedain-female-mage-m451-metal-miniature-c2x11471411
She's not obviously old, but her age is ambiguous enough that you could probably make her look old pretty easily by making her hair gray, painting facial wrinkles/creases, etc.

(Mithril also has some other very nice "high-status woman" figures, like Merien of Dol Amroth and Queen Mirien of Gondor, but those are part of their very expensive Fellowship range, while the Female Mage is more normally priced.)
