Thank you! Seems, the time has come to make first battle-report ))
Silesian merchant Helmut Wurstbrandt rides a caravan to the Wrocław's anual festival. He decided to take short (but dangerous) way and, while recovering one of his carts from mud, was ambushed by some notorious raubritter. The only possible help can arrive from the local apiary, where local noble Erzy Baturinen occasionally inspects his domain.
Starting positions of caravan, raubritters and apiary crew.
Caravaneers - mostly unarmed monks and wandering musicians are utterly despaired by the sighting of advancing brigands. Only hospitaller knight and his armiger keeps calm.
Raubritters expect little resistance as they have better numbers, skill and armor.
Erzy Baturinen arms his serfs and spurs forward to aid the caravan. Bees start to worry.
Though he quickly finds out, that his rescue mission may become a deathtrap. Armin Rottenberg himself with all his mounted retinue and a little bit crazy noble maiden Zelda decides to give reckless beekeeper a lesson...
First charge leaves virtually no one standing. Old Erzy proudly defends himself nonetheless. Bees become angry.
On the other flank armiger is shot down by the hail of bolts.
Angry monks launch a sudden counter-attack on the lonely raubritter (Armin's nephew) and use their numbers to knock him down.
Things get serious: main raubritter forces engage caravan guards - remaining monks flee in terror. Slaughter at the apiary is finished - Erzy flees for his life, serfs are cut down to a man, but one of them occasionally kills a mount under raubritter commander, and as a result dreadful Armin Rottenberg is buried under his armoured horse, heavily wounded! Also, one of the mounted brigands is terribly bitten by the bees and leaves the area for good.
The turning point of the battle - merchant Wurstbrandt uses all his leadership and orders unarmed musicians to engage the flank of the brigands forces! Now under the leadership of Armin's brother, brigands overestimated the menace and start to flee the battlefield, being mercilessly cut down by angered hospitaller and remaining guards.
Mounted retinue and crossbowmen were too far to help their comrades and the raubritter's center was entirely broken in a blink of an eye. Rottenberg's brother and crazy maiden Zelda tried to stop the flight, but both were wounded in process by encouraged defenders and their attempt failed.
Caravan was saved, and as the numbers of caravaneers greatly reduced, cunning Wurstbrandt was glad that he should pay his escort less money when they'll reach Wrocław...
