Who Mad These Camels?
« on: October 06, 2016, 09:10:39 AM »
Anyone have any idea who made these? There are 5 camels (very heavy), 1 rider and some accessories.
They are 1/35 th scale, I believe.
I did not realize, at the time that I took the photos, that the figures were covered in dirt/dust.
I would have cleaned them first. Very curious to know the maker.
Anyone?

Judging by the high forked cantle on the saddle etc these are for Tuareg or Algerian camel trooper minis, probably from an French Foreign Legion/Algerian war toy soldier range... beyond that I can't help I'm afraid...
Warriors dreams, summer grasses, all that remains

Elastolin used a composite material (hence the name) not cast metal

I though the question was "How mad are these Camels?"
Disapointed not to find crazy camels.

Although the rider looks like a British Camel Corps rider from the Sudan.

My first thought was King & Country but it doesn't look like their sculpting style on the camel.
I've seen the rider in Toy Soldier magazine, possibly someone like Langley Models?
