Advice needed on Stagecoach and Wagon horse teams
« on: October 09, 2016, 07:03:13 PM »
I am looking for a number of sets of 4 horse wagon teams and/or stagecoach horses to pull 4ground wagons etc.  Any idea what are the best sets and which would go best with Foundry minatures?  Thanks

I used the horses from the DMH stagecoach set for my pencil sharpener, which are available separately to the kit if you email them.

Not sure how they will scale up with Foundry, but they should be fine as Foundry are not overlarge.
I will see if I can sort you out a comparison with some Foundry figures in the next couple of days, mate.

I had been looking at Tiger Miniatures for horse and mule teams:

Oh, and I mostly used ertl plastic cows to pull my wagons, of which quite a few are 4Ground.
They seem to work fine to me.

The bigger wagons are 4Ground, the smaller are pencil sharpeners.

Dixon stagecoach( converted for C18th).

Horses come in both standing and galloping posses. I am sure you can buy them separately.

A lot of our stagecoaches out here in the American west were pulled by a six-up.  That means six horses rather than four.  My late grandmother drove a six-up in her youth.  But apparently she only drove a car once - right into a ditch and never drove herself again.  But, of course, plenty of coaches were pulled by four or even only two horses.

It's a lot cheaper for teams of 2 and 4 too!
