The Assault Group Bush War figures
« on: October 10, 2016, 07:14:20 PM »
Hey...I need some help from the group.

A few years ago I picked up a large number of Assault Group African Militia figures on Ebay for a great price.  They finally made it to the top of my painting mound and I have a pretty good start on them so far.  However, I today noticed that there are no command figures in the purchase.  I went to the Assault Group website and can not find any command figures even available for the "African Militia".  I'm new to this period and have only gamed periods prior to the 1920's so I don't know what is available to fill in the void, and would be compatible in size and style.

I am looking for command figures, radio operators in particular.  I have heavy weapon figures.

Also....I am looking for a VERY simple, "Let's sit around drinking, laughing and pushing toy soldiers" kind of rule set (skirmish).  I'm not too interested in the minutia of the period with varying small arm calibers, Soviet block grenades vs US grenades, etc

Thanks in advance.

This is worth a look using Memoir 44 as the basis, hope that is ok to post a link.

FWIW we'll have a command pack with radio operator and officers/NCOs in our "Wild Geese" inspired line that is in production.

(Plus more HQ poses if we can get as far as covering Katanga)

The officers are in the packs with the militia - there is a guy with a monkey on his shoulder, and a guy with a big machete. I use these as leaders where a mission requires it. The second page on the African bit of the TAG website also features a warlord and body guard- he is in a suit with a mobile phone- not quite a radio but still useful.

As for rules I would suggest you look at Flying Lead

Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/

Apparently the figures I purchased were manufactured prior to the ones you describe as they are not in the mix I have.  I will double check the newer figures.r

Dittoing the comments about hte warlord on the phone, the bloke with the machete and there is a mercenary officer type with an uzi in the freebie list who would also do the job.

For simple, fun, modern games - try http://www.skankgame.com/
The rules are generic 'guns and vehicles' rules aimed at low sci-fi, moderns and post apocalyspe
