Handsome Jack
« on: October 11, 2016, 05:00:46 PM »
SO*...Neighbor Tom is a Balladeer, song writer, guitar player, West Texas Boy, & a GOOD friend. His Birthday is coming up next week. To commemorate The Event** I did up a miniature. Handsome Jack is one of Tom's songs, ergo, it's now the name of his mini.
In this case the mini is one of the monthly releases that Old Glory did a few years ago:

...fill your hand, Pilgrim.

*This seems to be the way I start most stories of late. There is a distinct possibility it is yet another sign of imminent senility.
**When you reach a certain age birthdays warrant capital letters. It's the older-than-dirt phase.

Brilliant, mate.
Most apt.
I am sure Tom will be a very happy chappy when he receives his lovely, thoughtful birthday gift.

Thanks for the kind reply, Paul. First replies are always kind & appreciated. I hope Tom likes it...Western stuff is his thing.
It is not state of the art, but the amount of character the sculptor put into the piece made it a lot of fun to paint.

Good that he was moved, he's too nice for the Blight.

I'm not familiar with that line, but this one was from Old Glory. They offered a different mini each month. They each came with a little printed background fluff. From the base, I'd say the were made for O.G. by Blue Moon Manufacturing. They had Pirates as well as Western types...I still have some of each or, rather, Cap'n John does.

Thanks for the reply, Elbows!

Thank, von Lucky...glad you like him.
He'll be moving away from any contact with The Blight...all the way next door.

DeafNala, he looks like an old toy action figure forgotten in some even older attic...  ;)

Funny you should mention it, he reminded me of some Toy Soldiers by Mignot I had seen a long time ago. He also conjured up a possible sidekick for Woody from Toy Story. He isn't really a serious model to moi.

Thanks for the kind reply, Fram. With all the kind comments I may have to paint some of the others.
