Speedpainting 76 Horses, 1 per 3 minutes
« on: October 20, 2016, 03:37:58 PM »
Painting horses is a curse. It's tedious. Brown. More brown. Some black. More brown. Bit white. Brown. I know wargamers who committed suicide during the process. But then I had to paint 76 horses for my 15mm League of Augsburg army. I considered throwing them out of the window (who needs cavalry, anyway) but finally, I accepted my tearful fate and started painting them. Speedpainting them.

How? (Read more, club blog here http://amsterdam6shooters.nl/node/853

Sadly your speed painting is about the level of talent I have to paint them nicely... and it's not fast when I do it. Yours look better in the end as well. :)

Tnx! But don't underestimate yourself, Mellis. The main trick is to allow yourself to make mistakes, hide them with wash or Army Painter, and correct what is obviously wrong in the end. I quite carelessly brushed the leathergear, hated it :-) but after a wash and at arms length the horses look as good as earlier projects, painted slowly with fine brushes.

Oh, you are in SO much trouble with the horse lovers.  Probably best not to answer any late night knocks on Your door.  If you know what I mean.     :-[

Looking good (though I'm another horse lover, you'll learn these guys are great when they win your next game for you :) )
