Question that may have already been asked...
« on: November 02, 2016, 01:10:26 PM »
Hello fine gents and ladies of the either.

I don't know (or really can't quite remember) if anyone may have come up for a use of this not so little gem from microart studios.

I'm pretty sure it has already been asked before if there is a way to integrate this into IHMN, but if not, I could more than willing find a way to create some rules for it.

Well I'll give it a go for you  :D

Super Heavy Military Mechanical Walker

Speed 6" :0pts
Armour 15 :49pts
Steam Dynamo :10pts
Arc Generator :20pts
Machine Gun :26pts
Arc Cannon :12pts
Steam Claw :8pts
Congreve Rocket Launcher :7pts (up four grenades : empty)
Arc Lantern (Using design rules - Fighting Extraordinary)
FV Bonus +2, Hands Required 2, Pluck Modifier -2 :11pts
(Can split attacks between multiple targets and uses all of the Arc rules apart can be used in close combat)

So base cost is 143pts

You can purchase:

Carbide Lamps :3pts
And up to four grenades at an  extra +7pt each (This is for rocket propelled explosive or gas grenades, each of which must be purchased separately and costs 1 point more than a standard grenade)

Oh and don't forget to point up a Steersman for this monster machine  ;)

Cheers Matt

Edit: made the grenade purchase clearer :)

Gorgeous figure and paint-job - love it :)

Comstar - grenades are +6pts, not +1pt.

Also for a mech of such complexity I would say it needs two steersman, one of whom must have the Engineer talent.

It says +1 for a grenade used for a congrave launcher so 7pts for each granade ?
Also like the idea for a second steersman that would sort a lot of issues with so many weapons :)

Uh, not my paint job, this is what I found on the website to show what I was talking about. lol Sorry for the confusion chaps.

I do want to own this model though. ;)

Hmm, a heavy military walker, very interesting idea.

The idea I had was making it into more of a robot than an suit though.  Maybe using something similar to what I had written for the Metal Men from Deep Space, but instead of death ray guns and weapons, it would be naturally more "primitive earthling" tech.  Maybe even something that requires someone with the Engineer Talent being present as a remote operator.  Naturally the idea of mounting rockets and machines (and the possible addition of arc weapons) would work.

The kit does include many weapon options in it.  I think I know now what I want for Xmas!  lol

What I do own though that is equally awesome is three of GW's plastic Knight titans that I am painting that could stand in as giant steam automatons of doom.

I will post pictures of my knights (unpainted of course as of now) on this website, along with rules that I hope meet the communities approval.

Till then, cheerio chaps.

This is one that I own, the battle cannon could be some akin to 32 pound cannon, and the heavy stubbers could be used as regular machine guns.

It also has a few iron crosses, so it could be either Prussian in origin or, more mysteriously and dastardly, a mechanical Teutonic Knight robot. lol

Still no Idea what I would count the Reaper chainsword as, mayhaps some kind of -2 Pluck weapon, but with some kind of armor ignoring rule, not quite sure how that would work though...

I was going to go with grey or olive drab with the armor trim being bronze with oxidation.  Maybe put some areas where the paint had chipped.

Choose this one because the other two scream too sci-fi, but this one could pass for an experimental technology that would be feasible for the period.

Uh, on closer inspection, the crosses are more Maltese than anything, mayhaps it is a Mechanical Knight of Malta!?!   ??? lol

I like the imperial knights :)

For Chain weapon how about:
Weapon bonus +4 good against armour @ 9pts
Pluck penalty -2 @ 2pts
Can attack multiple targets by splitting fighting value @ 3pts
So 15pts in total :)

For the approval of one and all, I present the following rules for these titans of war.

if anyone may have come up for a use of this not so little gem from microart studios.
Pretty obvious isn't it? He lights the streetlights nightly for all to see.

But I agree, superb paint job for this monster.
Looks like he could be used in many genres.
