Meanwhile at Sally 4th HQ, progress continues on our Wild Geese terrain project.
This week the African Airport joins the Control Tower and bridge.

We will have some with us at Partizan, and they are now in the 'Wild Geese' section of our website: http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Wild-Geese

Any update on the septics and the Soviets?

Just a wee update on these (especially for those patiently still waiting for their pre-orders)
  • final pre-orders and missing deliveries being despatched over the next couple of weeks
  • should therefore be good to get them on general release in July
  • additional pack of 'Simbas' commissioned - inc a few with machetes
  • additional 'special' pack being commissioned to go along with a set of prison/barracks buildings being produced by Sally 4th - eg firing crossbow, couple of mercs in gas masks, couple of variant Simbas for guard towers
  • planning a conversion set/WG crew compatible with TARV Model's Series II landrover (no affiliation and other suppliers are available, not least Akula's lovely version that already has that good stuff)
  • gathering quotes for a decent RL
  • Sally 4th putting on a WG demo game at the next Partizan using Combat Patrol rules

On non-Wild Geese stuff, I am plotting the next things on the to-do list: Toss up between Jadotville, Entebbe or some Rhodesians.  Pledge for what you'd buy here and earn a discount on what gets released:  https://www.mikebravominiatures.co.uk/collections/lgc  RhSAS currently taking a narrow lead.

(and Carlos: Soviets off to be cast shortly, need to find someone to fix the Yanks and sort them out)

They look great,

I'm making good progress on our Wild Geese participation game for The Other Partizan.
All figures undercoated and strict program in place to paint 15 miniatures a week for the game. Last batch of mercenaries (apart from the new ones!) starting tonight, so will aim to do a painting article for my hobby blog as I do them.

Any one got a recommendation for the trucks?

Promod do 1/50 Bedford RLs, pricey but worth it.  Corgi does a civilian Bedford S that could work as a cheaper alternative with a repaint (i have a couple that I could paint up if that helps?) The Dinky ones are a tad small (1/60 I think?) but if it's just for markers...

I've got a couple of Tarv 1/56 Landrovers that would fit, but I'm leaning to 1/50 so having a go at knocking one up over the summer.

if you want air support I have a Dak and Fouga  on the work bench that should be ready in time (you can get a resin version of the one from the film but it runs to £60 +...)

Crooked Dice do a 1/50 Land Rover (but it's a hardtop).
Back from the dead, almost.

When I get home I will photograph it with a Warlord GMC Deuce and a half and a Rubicon Studebaker.

Rubicon Studebaker and an Empress Technical.

Thanks for that info. I've got a Rubicon Studebaker on my desk and an unpainted CD Landrover somewhere.

Dan, if you could paint up a few trucks and Fouga for the show that would be great.

Cheers,

Chris.

p.s. Anyone wanting to put their name down for playing the game at 'The Other Partizan'?

If you want a bigger (1/50) version of the Studer then Solido do the GMC with the hard, Studebaker type cab. I picked them up quite cheaply a few years back. They also do a soft top and the 'sixties era M35.

I'd second Promod's Bedfords, they are superbly cast and very accurate kits.
