In a near future, i'll start a new project : 2nd  Seminoles wars !
i'm working on a SODT version for this period and all the black powder (and more) periods......

Shopping is done at CRISIS 2016 in Antverpen last saturday.

You will find some of my ideas about this project in my new edition blog page (french text but translator button will do the job for you )

Aha, a new Project.
If you decide for the artizan New Orleans Greys just send me a email. I think i have some surplus that we can trade for something. And 2 or 3 Seminoles from OG.

and now some of this team are Us Infantry for the 2nd Seminoles Wars !

The paintjob will do the rest of the illusion    o_o o_o with a tropical basing.

Thank you guys.

that's the simplest conversion i have opted for !

No Green stuff at all, of course Rui
Some cutter sculpting for the special shako and to shorten the uniform tails and take some cuff sleeve's buttons... o_o

i have some cape wars infantrymen (CFB 10 ref) in shell jacket but in forage cap which 'll ask some work with a flat plier to convert into shako...

The strecher will be use by a two men team from the CBF 10 pack in a conventional way.  :D

More to follow

Cheers

Looking forward to seeing you turn the Perry Cape Wars Highlanders into US infantry, is the only thing you're required to do is shave off their pom-pom and re-adjust the back of their jackets?

The highlanders are the easier to convert. The shape of their cap is ideal to serve as the base of the US inf shako. With the flat plier i press the top of the cap in a rotative way giving it a cylander shape. Then i use the cutter to fashion the shako shape.
I take off the long tail of the jacket to give it the look of a shell jacket. Then sculpt with the cutter a new backside trouser.
The rear visor of the cap is remove too, as the belly cartrige ! This one if properly remove can be glued at the right place on the figurine (rear side).

All the operations take me 10-15 minutes for one figurine. Fortunately, i need few figurines to ply a skirmish game  lol

Just a picture to show you the first step of the US shako sculpting ; the cylinder get by a flat plier work on the cap edges. Press and turn at the same time.

the "before and after" of the cap into a shako (but 2 different figurines).

Excellent little tutorial! Thanks for this nervisfr, I will have to give it a go myself. I imagine the highlanders using a similiar method could easily be converted into New Orleans Greys for the Alamo aswell.

Right but they still exist in figurines (Artizan and Boot hill Miniatures) so may be no need to go on conversion  ;)

A sepoy war range can be use too for the job on 1836 US Infantry...(see Empress Miniatures one) with some references from the british...
