How cool!  I really like the zebra centaurs and the darker skin-tones.  Well done.

Since last posting I have completed a 2nd flying chariot (which is basically the same as the first) and some 'killer birds' -as I have been calling them. These will be used as super heavy cavalry in 'Age of Sigmar'-counting as 'Concussors' from the Stormast faction. I am now working on a phoenix.

The mounts are dodo toys repainted and the riders are from Hasslefree Miniatures. One of the few companies I've found that supply riders without mounts. Anybody know where I can get any other riders with no mounts? Female Zulu types or Greek style Amazons would be ideal but I'll take any suggestions (riders alone seem difficult to get a hold of and I'm developing quite a stockpile of spare horses as a result).

Nice update - they are wonderfully unique.

Anybody know where I can get any other riders with no mounts? Female Zulu types or Greek style Amazons would be ideal but I'll take any suggestions (riders alone seem difficult to get a hold of and I'm developing quite a stockpile of spare horses as a result).

Contact Nic at Eureka Miniatures:

They have more than a few miniatures that will be suitable and he may be willing to sell mounts only.

And I meant riders, not mounts. Obviously. There's a few ranges in the 28mm ranges you'll like.

If you're looking for other sculpts for this, you might take a glance at Crocodile Games stuff along with Megalith Games, both have several good options for your amazon force.

Thanks, guys!  :D Yes-I'm waiting with much anticipation to get my hands on some of the new Crocodile Games figures :) Not sure if I've seen the Megalith stuff-I'll check it out (thanks for the tip :)).

Phoenix is done. I'm planning to add some ivy to the plinth but I only just ordered that so I'll have to wait a bit. Next-more centaurs! And some harpies. The phoenix is a toy by a company called 'Safari LTD'. The paint job it came with was actually pretty good (it had translucent orange wings) but I decided I should paint it to bring it in line with the rest of the army.
