Deacon...

Not finished the Scammell but knocked this up over the weekend instead: 1/56 Deacon

Quite a bit more work to do but the main structure is done.  What a fiddly bugger, those angles were a pain in the arse and I had to remake the whole cab twice.

Eventually it'll be getting a removable 'sunscreen' in the shape of a truck :D

Thanks - the cab is driving me up the wall - it's been rebuilt 3 times now.  It's jsut so fiddly.

Pretty sure it's done now though. (Looks pretty much the same as the first but I know it's better!)

Bin hinges and latches then a shed load of rivets (I like a good rivetting sesh) and it'll be done.

Rich,
Your still thinking like a scale modeller ,and not like a sculptor ;)
The cab shouldn't have taken more than an hour before your into detailing.
Drop me another pm when your ready and I'll show you a short cut for this type of thing which means there's no back filling for casting nor the need to make every panel befor you start to build it.so your less likely to pull your hair out .
Other than that looks like it's going to be pretty and definitely one I'd be interested in having on a table.
Mark.

Thanks Mark,

It's not being built for casting this one is personal ;)  It's too flimsy for casting, all 1mm thik sheets.
It was my cockup that caused the problem, the back plate was a rhombus shape not square!  My own fault for assuming my offcut was square...  Usually I check.
I then fought it to correct it (rebuild one) then ripped it off and rebuilt it properly!

The rivests were playing up too only about 1 in 4 actually stuck...  grr.

PM on the way

Rich
