Hi there

The Prussian and French blue is Citadel Kantor Blue with a wash of Drakenhof Nightshade...

And that is all...

If you need it darker...

Another wash... :D

Here is my latest unit...

French Guard Lancers...
I have decided to do them in their full dress white uniforms... I know they wore Sky blue undress coatees in this war...and got attacked by their own side  :( ... But the white is prettier  :D

Hi there...

I thought I would make some suitably shiny disorder tokens...

Its an explosion from Irregular Miniatures 42mm range...

I think it works rather well... :D

I was having a look through some old copies of Miniature Warfare ...as you do
And I found these pictures...

These were probably the the main reason I have a love for the Franco-Prussian war...I remember as a 12 year old drooling over these miniatures...all I know about them is that the picture credit says photo by Andrew Brown...

So if you are still out there Andrew Brown....Thank you.. :D

That's an issue of MW I don't have and have never seen. I was trying to work out what make the figures are. The front infantry unit look like they are Hinton Hunt converted and it looks like there are some Airfix in there. My Wargames interest started with a display game at one of the old Warfare through the Ages shows Derek Sharman put on in Durham: it used Airfix  WWI German infantry, French Foreign Legion, French Cuirassiers as I remember. Then picked up again with Steve Shann articles in the glossies with the Foundry FPW range; and now am running with old Minifigs S Range figures. So though I don't remember that cover or article, thanks for the memories!
