Generic 25/28mm woodland terrain

I have made a generic set of 25/28mm woodland terrain to be used for any historical time period, sci-fi, or fantasy setting.

All the hills are carved out of solid wood, no foam was used in this terrain.

 I would not have thought about doing hills out of solid wood.Are they heavy?

The wooden hills are heavier then foam, but; I am confident they will last a lifetime and will not get the white or pink edging wear that foam hills tend to get from extensive use and transport.

This is the kind of effect I am trying to achieve and have a similar lineup of trees. I use foam, paper towel, expanded poly etc. on my hills, but they are based on hardboard mitred to the edges.

Looking at my Woodland Scenics tree armatures, they seem kind of 2 dimensional to me. Have you any tips for bending these into more 3D shapes? Yours look great!

I use two pairs of pliers, one to hold the tree trunk in place and the other to rotate the next branch area of the tree trunk to the desired angle, then I repeat up the tree.

A great modular layout. Thanks for the tips about the trees.  I had used hot water in the past but the problem was always them springing back to their original position.

Nice job. Unless someone is dedicated to science fiction gaming, there are few better terrain "must haves" than trees, bushes, hills, etc.
